Frequently asked questions

You don't need to bring anything - I have yoga mats and all props you might need for your class. If you have your own mat please feel free to bring it along - you may like to lay it over one of mine for a little extra.

Whatever you feel comfortable in - we will send our legs all over the place and may even spend sometime upside down so choose clothing that moves with you and doesn't restrict movement. Shoes are left at the door and I encourage you to ditch your socks as they can be slippery - but this is a personal choice.

We have a limited number of mat spaces - booking will ensure you avoid disappointment should we be full. You will be prompted to pay on booking - if online payment is an issue please reach out and I can book your space.

  1. Smells - If you are a lover of strong perfume, please understand that we breathe deeply through the nostrils and perfume may not be tolerated by all. Body odour - I'm all for natural living however once again please be mindful that we share space with others and breathe deeply.

  2. Be on time - class will start on time with meditation, this serves a purpose and for some it will create a feeling of calm and safety - by entering this you are taking away from those that have arrived on time. If you are likely to be a few minutes late - let me know in advance and I will advise whether I can make a slight adjustment to accommodate, however in general if you can see through the door that the class has started and students eyes are closed please do not enter.

  3. Water. Common yogic guidance is that you will be hydrated enough to go an hour without needing to take a drink, and in doing so you may be distracting yourself from your own zen. If you need to have a drink be mindful of those around you when you do.

  4. Reminder the space is one of compassion and non judgement. Yoga may lead to a release of toxins and emotions in many different ways - including passing gas or crying, try not to react. The space should feel safe inclusive and comfortable for whatever comes up and whatever is needed.

Yoga is for every body, we each have individual challenges in different poses. If there is a particular pose your body really doesn't like we will find you an alternative or a modification that will work for you.

Each class will have a maximum of 10 participants. Class starts and ends with eyes closed meditation (eyes can stay open if you feel more comfortable) this gives you time and space to settle in. At any time you need you can take yourself to a seated position or lay down or even step out of the room. I keep music, light, scents to a minimum to try to reduce sensory impact. I am open to feedback in this area.

Age appropriateness is the caregiver's call to an extent. If you are confident your child will remain engaged for 60 minutes they are welcome to attend. I ask that they are mindful of those around them and quiet in the quiet times.
